The new photos from the Furiosa set to reveal a great throwback in the George Miller saga
The latest photos from the prequel set of Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa, show the return of the locations used by George Miller in Mad Max Beyond the Thunder Ball in 1985. After making the first three films of the saga in Australia, George Miller is He was forced to move to Namibia to shoot the sequel Fury Road, but for the highly anticipated prequel titled Furiosa, the director is back where it all began: in Australian New South Wales.
For Fury Road, Miller replaced the saga’s iconic lead actor, Mel Gibson, with Tom Hardy. In Furiosa, however, the protagonist of the film will be the character played by Charlize Theron. As this is a sequel, however, Theron will not be part of the expected next film in the franchise. Furiosa will have the face of the young and talented Anya Taylor-Joy.

In fact, for Furiosa, Miller returned to a previous location in the saga to shoot some scenes near Sydney, at the former salt extraction site in Kernell, where some key moments of Mad Max beyond the thunder ball were filmed. including the scenes with the 747 crashing in the desert. The cast of Mad Max: Furiosa confirmed so far is made up of stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The prequel film will be based on the character of Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron in 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Netflix Chess Queen star Anya Taylor-Joy will play a younger version of Furiosa. George Miller will direct, co-write and produce the highly anticipated film, along with his longtime partner Doug Mitchell. The film will be produced by Miller’s Australian company Kennedy Miller Mitchell, along with Warner Bros. Pictures. The film is expected to hit theaters in May 2024, but a definitive release date has not yet been provided.
