Avatar: The Last Airbender: Netflix's Geeked Week celebration continues with the first trailer for the highly anticipated adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, a live-action reimagining of the beloved animated series that follows the adventures of Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, Air) to restore balance in a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation. Just a couple of days ago the first poster had already been revealed.

Avatar: The Last Airbender arrives on Netflix on February 22, 2024

The four nations of the world once lived in harmony. Peace between them was guaranteed by the Avatar, the master of all four elements. However, everything changes when the Fire Nation attacks the Air Nomads, exterminating them, and taking the first step towards conquering the world.

Avatar: The Last Airbender follows the young Air Nomad Aang as he awakens to a world destroyed by war. Together with his new friends Sokka and Katara, he sets off on an action-packed adventure with the aim of taking the place that rightfully belongs to him: that of the new Avatar.

Based on the animated series by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, Avatar: The Last Airbender was developed for Netflix by Albert Kim. Gordon Cormier leads the web series' cast as Aang, alongside Kiawentiio Tarbell as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Iroh, and Elizabeth Yu as Azula. Additionally, Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii 5.0, Lost) is Fire Lord Ozai, Maria Zhang is Suki, Ken Leung is Commander Zhao, Lim Kay Siu is Gyatso, Casey Camp-Horinek is Gran-Gran, CS Lee is Roku and Yvonne Chapman plays Kyoshi.

This new live-action reimagining of Nickelodeon's award-winning animated series arrives on Netflix on February 22, 2024.
