A Quiet Place: Day One, the new chapter in the post-apocalyptic horror series that began in 2018, has been released. As the title suggests, the film will explore the beginning of the invasion of alien monsters with super-fine hearing.

The original film – and its direct sequel – were written and directed by John Krasinski, former Jim from The Office, but this third film is directed by Michael Sarnoski. The first two films focused on the survival of the Abbott family, consisting of Krasinski and wife Emily Blunt as Lee and Evelyn, who do everything they can to protect their children, Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe).

The beginning of the trailer for A Quiet Place: Day 1 shows the Abbott family gathered at the table, an image from the first film, and then we see some glimpses of the events of the second chapter, which also featured Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer). The action then shifts to the first alien invasion. The prequel will introduce new characters trying to survive in New York City: Lupita Nyong’o (Us, Black Panther), Alex Wolff (Hereditary), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), and Denis O’Hare (True Blood), also confirmed on the return of Djimon Hounsou, already seen in the previous film.

The film is produced by Paramount Pictures, Platinum Dunes, and Sunday Night Productions. Krasinski remains involved with the franchise as a producer alongside Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller. A Quiet Place: Day One hits theaters in June.
