Lightyear – The true story of Buzz promises to be a success for the Italian box office: the data of the week


Lightyear – The true story of Buzz arrived in cinemas a few days ago but has already conquered the heights of the Italian box office

The new Disney Pixar film dedicated to the world of Toy Story, Lightyear – The true story of Buzz, arrived in Italian cinemas on June 15th but has already conquered the heights of the Italian box office, ousting the last chapter of the Jurassic era, Jurassic World – The Domain.

The story on the origins of the space ranger who inspired the creation of the Buzz Lightyear toy grossed € 235,167 over the weekend, for a total of € 968,764 (with 138,376 admissions in the hall). The new chapter of the Universal saga with dinosaurs drops to second place, Jurassic World – The Dominion which, after exceeding 6 million euros in revenues, on Sunday 19 June collects “only” 189,920 euros.

Third place in the Italian box office for Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel with Tom Cruise, a true phenomenon of this film season. Already a personal record for the Hollywood star, the film grossed more than € 9.5 million in total, while this weekend (the fourth since its release) grossed € 165,748. Fourth position for the anime film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 – The Movie, in cinemas only from 9 June but with a total collection of 1,060,598 euros. 

This Sunday the film – an all-time high-grossing film in Japan – grossed € 26,646. In fifth place in the box office ranking, we find Nostalgia, the film by Mario Martone starring Pierfrancesco Favino which, on Sunday 19 June alone, collected € 20,138, bringing its total to € 1,191,790.
